Similarly I use Vinculum and programmable RF modules because in
some projects it just makes economic sense. Why on earth would
you waste valuable time developing a roll-your-own for absolutely
no gain ?

I see no reason why anyone shouldn't know what tools are available
and how to make the best use of them

I've a neighbour who would tell me whenever he got the chance how
much better and more expensive his workshop tools are than mine. But
he doesn't know how to use them properly and I'd stack my Black And
Decker results against his wonky Dewalt abominations any day
