So what /is/ an "in circuit emulator". Does it just simulate a pic?

You're saying REAL ICE is just a higher end "in circuit debugger" like ICD3=
?

I've heard good things about the ICD3 (but not as nearly as many things as
I've heard about the PICKIT3 and how bad it is). What would be your opinion
on buying an ICD3?
