Your driver will handle up to 18V. Your transformer output has a 12V
zener there now.

Also, while your FET does do well with 20F on the gate (its max
allowed) it does almost as well at +10V - see fig 7 here

Unless you are doing something very marginal with it I'd say 10V drive
would be quite reasonable.
