Thanks for the input everyone. Consensus mostly seems to be to use a
small switch with a big FET, and that's what I'll do (it integrates
nicely into the target circuit as well, since I wanted a FET involved
anyway so the circuit could kill itself on low battery and avoid
discharging dangerously far).
