We're experiencing symptoms where 18F4680's with batch code "0850PA6"=20 are sometimes failing to boot, then preventing us from re-programming them. The effect has been noticed when an instrument using this device comes=20 in for service. It boots and performs correctly initially, then fails to=20 boot after the first power off-on cycle (typically, 'off' is for some=20 minutes). Reprogramming the device (using Softlog's "ICP2-Portable" production=20 i.c.p.) does not cure the effect. Could it be possible that: a) these PICs were unwittingly programmed with too low a programming=20 voltage by our ICD2's? b) the ICP2-Portable's programming voltage could do with being set a bit=20 higher? Note: this effect only seems to affect the above batch code. Changing=20 the PIC for a different code makes it all go away. Reflections welcome.
