Hi group, During a recent move, I acquired an old electric bicycle. Frame says=20 funbike and thinkmobility.com, but that site is dead. I've learned=20 that it was a Ford Motor product and what remains of the division may be=20 in Norway as http://www.thinkev.com , with a US site=20 http://www.thinkev-usa.com/. The bike has a fairly light aluminum (?) frame but is weighted down with=20 a battery that is 2 SLA motorcycle batteries (12V, 12AH) in series in a=20 package. The drive is "pedal assist" with what looks like a car starter=20 motor (whith chinese symbols on it) driving the drive sprocket. The=20 wiring is quite messed up and I don't know if it's repairable. There=20 are power electronics attached to the frame near the motor and a small=20 electronic box with an unidentified UC and LED indicators that was=20 mounted to the handlebar. I'd like to get the thing running, but with lighter battery and longer=20 range. Range was 12 miles with the 12 AH 24V SLA battery. If I could=20 find some schematics or even a block diagram, it would be easier to use=20 existing power electronics. Appreciate it if anyone can offer tips on where to find more info, and=20 suggestions for lighter battery. I'm thinking lithium ion.
