For < 12V supply feed LT1073 with a 8V to 16V boost converter using=20
internal switch and small 1/4W resistor sized coil. L1 in diagram will=20
run from 8V

A coil to store 20W @ 19KHz is quite large core. Though an old AT 100W=20
PC PSU SMPSU core will likely do as those ran at about 40KHz or so.  At=20
1/2 frequency you can only handle 1/2 the power approximately in the=20
core. You only need a flyback transformer for 2KV to 50kV. 350V direct=20
from a single inductor is possible. The 20W to 50W seems a lot for CDI=20
though.
