Interesting question - though I don't have any experience with this (or=20 a direct answer) I'll put forward a couple of alternative suggestions. One is simply to file the contacts down, this has worked for me numerous=20 times when fixing old equipment. This is not a really long lasting=20 solution, but I have found it to usually last a year or so if the=20 environment is not too harsh. The other is to do the above then paint with silver paint (the stuff=20 used for fixing PCB traces etc) to prevent oxidisation. A similar idea would be to use some tinning solution used for PCB=20 boards, I imagine that might work quite successfully. I imagine there will be some information on chrome electroplating, but I=20 think it might be quite involved and the tinning solution would be just=20 as good. I haven't tried it though, only the filing and silver paint. --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
