I need a USB to serial adapter and am thinking about making one with the MCP2200, but looking at the evaluation board schematic (http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=3DSS_GET_PAGE&nodeId= =3D1406&dDocName=3Den547372), I'm confused why there is a MAX3232 chip on the board? Looking at another company's board that uses the MCP2200, http://www.mikroe.com/eng/downloads/get/1601/usb_uart2_manual_v100.pdf, there's no MAX232 chip. So why does Microchip's eval board have one? Thanks! -Nate P. S. I've been trying to decide between the MCP2200 and FT232RL; if anyone has used both and would like to chime in, I'd appreciate it! --=20 Student Hobbyist --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
