What I did was export all the 8 bit series to a spreadsheet and get rid of columns that I wasn't interested in. A simple sort (for me, descending by RAM/Flash size was important) narrowed down what PIC I would stock up on fo= r general purpose. Microchip's web table sort kinda sucks.
