It's certainly suboptimal. Guitar Amp makers do a Lot of things I=20
wouldn't do.

Design your op-amp with different input impedances and see which you=20
like the "sound" of.

I've used IC socket cut up or SIL sockets strip and plugged in resistors=20
to test rather than full breadboard.
