It is also common, particularly in Chryslers, for the front seal on the=20 compressor to degrade, and the refrigerant to leak out through the=20 shaft. It happened to me. TWICE. Chrysler even has a note in their owners manual telling you to run the=20 A/C monthly to keep the seals wet with oil. But who runs A/C in winter,=20 particularly when you have 9 months of it here. They SHOULD have programmed the engine controller to run the A/C every=20 10 starts or so.
