The simple solution is to never use printf
There is no way to know the parameters make sense. Strustrupp was=20
rightly against it in 1980s

I sometimes use a regex in notepad++ if I have a huge text file (or a=20
lot of them) that need transformed in some way. Usually evil CSVs or=20
XMLs that are not quite right. If it's more than a one off I'd write a=20
program though.
