Most if not all the new development for lower-end PICs (PIC12/PIC16) will be in this category: Enhanced Midrange (PIC12Fxxxx and PIC16Fxxxx). Then there will be PIC18 after PIC12/PIC16. http://www.microchip.com/en_US/family/8bit/architecture/enhancedmidrange.ht= ml http://www.microchip.com/ParamChartSearch/chart.aspx?branchID=3D1025&mid=3D= 10&lang=3Den&pageId=3D74 > I am getting too OLD to keep writing in MPASM, so I will go ahead and > code in JALv2, then as I debug each routine I'll study the JAL primitives > as I find errors..Sound OK, Rob H? > > I like the PIC12F1822, it can be a heap I2C-driven UART, as it runs at > 32M and just costs $1.. Just $1? It is actually not cheap at all. I think the PIC12/PIC16/PIC18 are kind of expensive now if compared to cheap other vendors' parts. On the other hand, if you need 5V, or if $1 is not considered expensive, then it is a nice chip. --=20 Xiaofan --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
