I'm not too sure. Topic tag added. When I've been nervous about this in the past I've just made sure to order mating connectors and replaced the plug on the AC adapter as well. This is a bit easier if you have a local place you can buy both ends at and make sure they mate properly. Even so, I've run across some plugs that seem to mate but eventually prove to be too flakey to use.
