I think there might be a trend that somebody will start [OLIN] discussion when there is a lack of [PIC] or [EE] ones. And Olin (person) does not even have to be on the list at the moment= ! Maybe we can adopt a set of canned (standard) responses, such as here http://pourmecoffee.posterous.com/671171 - just say the number and save on time/bandwidth/aggravation. Numbers 2-7 seem applicable to many of the non-technical responses on this list. =20 On a more serious note, about the democracy on the list: democracy !=3D ana= rchy.=20 In a democracy people elect "management" and let them do their job. If one= does not like the job an elected official does,- do not reelect that person. I = do not know a democracy where day-to-day activities are controlled by everybod= y.=20 Affected,- yes, controlled,-no. And sometimes in a democracy things are do= ne not the way a particular person likes.=20 My hat is off for the admins. Sure, they do make mistakes sometimes, and t= hey do have their own preferences and styles (they are humans, not robots), but overall they do a decent job of maintaining the list. =20 In light of increasing transparency and democracy on the list, maybe we sho= uld have an election of admins? That would provide a channel to affect the lis= t policies if a group of subscribers desires it, and give more credence to th= e list admins. =20 Sergey Dryga http://beaglerobotics.com "I've never had a humble opinion.
