1962 efforts to prove invariance of Fine Structure Constant based on
observations to date.
Interesting but not surprising to see that 50 years on we are slightly
less certain of the point that the authors then felt was reasonably
well established.

And, no, I do not immerse myself in the technical details of such
things - mostly I simply peer in from the outside as I stumble across
them to see if it seems they just might be useful. (Sometimes I
instead just tiptoe quietly away ... :-) ).
