The township zoning resolution includes annual renewal of the permit,=20 and requirements for repair/removal within months of not being=20 operational, or not meeting all the requirements. We have had in the=20 area (not out township 2 neighboring resident's complaints. One was for=20 reflection/flickering from the blades of a 30' high vertical axis=20 "Windspire" turbine where the houses are on city sized lots. The other=20 was a noise complaint from a small (maybe 10' diameter blades)=20 horizontal axis turbine on maybe a 50 tower. The noise regulations were=20 for not to exceed city street noise, and it was under 40 db. Not found=20 in violation of zoning. Our local Rural Electric Power company has 5 privately owned smaller=20 turbines connected. The efficiency ranges from 3 (the vertical axis=20 WindSpire) - 15%. that is actual power generated/rated power. Some of=20 these might have been still in the testing stage. The power company uses=20 an actual power generated meter and buys at wholesale rate. The building=20 use is billed at normal rates. On 6/24/2011 3:02 PM, Mark E.
