About nominal 48V open circuit (Historically about 40V to 56V as it was=20
24 x 2V lead acid, (or 4 x 6v, or 2 x 12V) on float charge).
Drops to about 9V when a phone is off hook, so I'd guess about 5mA?

Er... Ringing voltage isn't pleasant.

Most Telcos regard it as theft though.
