Please try to avoid multiplying threads which are essentially identical. I realise that it attracts people to your shop when you change the window dressing occasionally, but in this context it also makes it hard for people to follow easily and generally noises things up. That said, I don't think this is a rule (although it has been discussed suggested and requested at various times in the past. So window-dress as seems useful if you must BUT try and keep variation to an unreasonable minimum. In this case, most all browsers will show there is a new message either as an individual line per message or by highlighting the thread as unread. Most will also show the posters concerned. So if people want to look in the window again it is fairly obvious that there are new things to see and who put them there. If they don't want to look in the window, then having a multiplying number of essentially identical windows not to look in can get annoying [tm].
