Wow, this is fascinating.  My high-school students and I brainstormed =20
a seated segway with a fixed base/axle, but with a tilting seat for =20
steering control, but we put it on hold due to cost (went with the =20
quad-copter project instead).  I like your idea, and would love to see =20
your design/code if you ever decide to share it.
