I've had 3, all after about a year start throwing tons of NG false alarms. Seems anything sets them off, humidity, fresh air, hair spray, even leaving the bathroom door open after someone does their business. Eventually they also start throwing false CO alarms, that gets REALLY frustrating. Worst part: the last alarm I had never gave a false NG alarm (did a few times on CO), this despite a gas inspector discovering a NG leak on my water heater. So even when there IS a problem it still was wrong. I no longer use combo alarms. The CO only alarms I've used have been rock solid (I test them every once in a while).
