Good day to all.
I'm working on a little one-off project for a university Arts student=20
that needs to respond to speech audio. My plan is to use a 4th order=20
HP filter at about 600Hz and a 2nd order LP filter at about 3KHz - I=20
really want to minimize sensitivity to air-handling system noise.
I was about to work this out using my (very) old Active Filter=20
Cookbook (Don Lancaster) from my college days but figured that there=20
MUST be software out there now that can do this even easier. In=20
retrospect, I should have done it by hand using the cookbook - I've=20
spent WAY more time looking at different software packages than it=20
would have taken to just do it. But - what the heck. At least I'm=20
seeing what's out there. And - I thought that I'd get suggestions=20
for software from the PIClist.
What I've found so far:
Microchip Filter Lab 2.0
TI FilterPro
Linear Technology Filter Cad 3.0
A fairly new package that says: "Far superior to freeware/online=20
calculators" Website is and the package is=20
called "Filter Wiz Lite".
However, I'm having some minor problems with this one and have been=20
chatting with the program's author. However, the trial version of=20
the 'Pro' version does not have the issues that I am seeing with the=20
'Lite' version.
Anyway, I'm still playing and thought that I'd see what software or=20
techniques that others use.
Thanks!
dwayne
