First things first please specify roughly where you are based and/or what
suppliers you use when asking questions regarding supply of parts.=20
Some suppliers serve the whole world at reasonable prices but many either
don't serve outside their home area or have very steep charges for doing so=

could be attatched directly to a PCB but you would probablly want some form
of mechanical suppoert in addition to the connection to the PCB.

I've seen side entry 4mm safety PCB mount safety sockets on commercial
products but my attempts to search for suppliers of those have drawn a
blank.
