Hmmm. OT. Good ... :-). > Although - I think I've been living life more than 10 000 hours, but I'm > still not very good at it. He said "expert in" not "good at". Some things are impossible to be good at, but you can still be expert :-). Some things "good" is relative. You may think you are good until one day ..= .. ... I have a friend who tells me that when she hears a pino note she can hear all the component parts that make the sound (metal, wood, felt, ..) and that when somebody plays a piano she can "hear" how their fingers strike every key - angle / speed / force. That took more than 10,000 hours though :-). (Possibly 50,000 hours +) and she's nowhere near as old as that may seem to suggest* . fwiw - She has 5 degrees and two related performance based professional qualifications to suggest that she can actually do what seems impossible to me. "Life" is more complex than that. Or is if you try to become accomplished at a greater subset of it than most do. But, you knew that :-). Russell * Utterly soaked in music from age 3 onwards. PhD, Mx, 3 x Bx. Another doctorate mostly done. Professional concert pianist. Professional concert conductor. I couldn't make a piano sound good to save my life :-). --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
