The money is available, Altium could be purchased now, but with all the=20 other outgoings I (and others more experienced in business than I) don't=20 feel it would be a good move at present. At present means until returns=20 are steady, things have "settled" and we have a better idea of cashflow. You are right that $4995 is pocket change for most businesses of a=20 reasonable size. However with a business of this size, and especially=20 during startup, the dynamics change somewhat. As Russell just noted, the advantages would have to be rather=20 significant to purchase immediately. If we can get away with not=20 spending $5k and achieve much the same result, then the reasoning is sound. In my experience of large and small companies, I would say that being=20 cautious (though not too cautious) with money is always relevant.=20 Although one cannot examine every penny when millions are changing hands=20 regularly, it is still possible to "keep losses to an optimal level".=20 You never know when you might take a big hit and be glad of some "real"=20 money in the bank. I have seen huge amounts of money "wasted" just simply because it was=20 available in certain setups, and it meant little to the person spending it. --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
