That's liable to be a matter of semantics. To ears attuned to western word usage (and my antipodean ones) the term "like ... better" would usually be taken to mean "overall does a better job for me in a given set of circumstances. ie in most cases (not all) "like better" and "get things done" do in fact quite closely agree. More usually they MAY not agree, but in probably the majority of cases when technical and/or quantitative performance is being compared, they do. As per the following examples "like xxx better" can be used when comparing food wraps, describing quality of wrenches, comparing razors, comparing hard drive reliability, and assessing relative merits of tyres in a range of applications. Subjective aspects are relevant in many cases, but overall merit for the task by some measure or other is usually the dominant consideration. eg Plastic wrap http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=3D20071006232820AAxEPDl torx head wrenches ASKED re quality Got "like better as a response" http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/570205.html?127614989= 7 Razors Agh.
