I first tried Eagle (DOS version) many years ago and didn't spend=20 much time with it. It seemed to be a capable package but didn't=20 offer anything that my then-current CAD package didn't already do=20 well. And, like my then-current CAD package, the learning curve was=20 a real bear. Quite frankly, that's why you want to pick one CAD package and stick=20 with it for as long as possible. The learning curve is just so=20 steep, most of the time. Regarding DIPtrace - I hear good things about it. The fact that the=20 Parallax people have taken a shine to it gives it some serious=20 credibility, in my opinion. Eagle is a lot Microchip in that they have catered to the hobbyist=20 crowd and gained significant market share because of it. Doesn't=20 mean that its great - just that a lot of people use it. That said -=20 many of those people DO think that Eagle is a capable package. dwayne --=20 Dwayne Reid Trinity Electronics Systems Ltd Edmonton, AB, CANADA (780) 489-3199 voice (780) 487-6397 fax www.trinity-electronics.com Custom Electronics Design and Manufacturing --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
