Well, at least "at home/in office" I feel that with HD prices where they are, the tradeoff is much towards just doubling my HDs and set up a software RAID1. The peace of mind of knowing that I can continue, no matter what, in the case of a disk failure outweighs the (little) expense of an additional HD.
