Only followed the last day's worth of posts so don't know if it's
been said already, but HobbyKing.com would probably have to be the
cheapest source of (reputable) lipos.  eg., you can get 128mAh 10C
singles for $0.99, or a nano-tech 130mAh 25-40C single for $1.33
 The protection in the case of RC lipos is usually built into the
charger rather than the batt.  Even the $5 Turnigy chargers do a
thoroughly acceptable job of balancing a 3S pack.
