I recently bought a VDrive2

Other commitments have kept me from it so far ;-(. One idea I
did have was to use the VDrive2 as the pluggable - ie the thumb
drive is plugged in to the VDrive2 and it's the VDrive2 that has
the panel connector to interface with the PIC's UART or SPI. As
Vinculum supply it, the VDrive2 is intended as the fixed panel-
mount device, so you'd need one per project
