> I'm not sure you understand the Piclist rules. I don't know why you don't know what I understand :-) There is only one rule, and that's not it. And, there is no "we". And, "we" can't. > Yesterday a majority of us decided he "just doesn't play well with > others". We all decided that long ago. But it's totally irrelevant to what we are discussing. Last I saw we were waiting for a last member to vote on what action.to take= .. > We've made plenty of accomodations to Olin in the past. > Every morning I look at my Piclist mail, and I breathe a sigh of relief > when I don't see any messages from him. And, what do you think I feel about Olin? I think that I've done more direct interaction with Olin overall than anyon= e else - possibly more than all others combined, Bob included. I interact with him as a person day to day where it seems it may be useful - I have been addressing his points that he raises fallacioulsy and trying to demonstrate the error of his ways. You'll notice him complaining about this in his recent replies. My point is that I am VERY aware of what Olin does, and how he's liable to think and I have spent a large amount of y time & effort trying to let the list benefit from That's unanimous, and has been for a long long time, but not the issue at hand.. It was known when *I* raised the latest series of events. Notably there has been no mention of the matter I raised, but instead discussion about spurious events which did not occur. If one is going to hang someone and has a wealth of evidence, it's a god idea to deal in the factual material available. I have not seen a majority vote for moderation without trying the simple step I suggested. The casting vote may have been placed and I missed it. Did the last admin vote? If not it's not a majorityvote ata ll - it's 50/50 and stay tuned. > He can play by the rules (post under moderation), or he can stop > posting. Putting something in explanatory brackets does not make it thesame. A number greater than 8 (7). You are equating two things which COULD be the same but don;t have to be. You are choosing to fail and I can't understand why. The list will be the worse off for it and you don't seem to care. You are destroying the illusion of due process.unnecessarily :-). Are you perhaps scared that Olin will turn from his wicked ways andbe saved if you give him the clear chance ? (No whales available, persons for the swallowing, here.) ________________________ Re > I'm not sure you understand the Piclist rules. I do. You don't. > We can do whatever we > decide to do when it comes to membership. We can't. You (Bob) do. If any of the following is incorrect please advise and I'll retract or alte= r anything wrong and relevant: You on occasion get into stoushes with list members, tell them you are God (not in those terms), tell them you can do whatever you want, post material which, you say, is by way of example, that is racist and hate speech and more (and yes, I do understand what you are trying to do when you do this) but some do not understand you. On occasions when you make arbitrary ruling= s and people politely query the what and why of them you subject them to the most extreme and virulent behaviour. And. yes, I do see the logic in actin= g that way - it does achieve a resuly of sorts, dows cow members into not challenging you, does make them in most cases to just get on with life and not pick fights with Bob. BUT you have got nough used to playing demi-god that you think it's OK tp not try and use due process when making decisions that will greatly impact the list. You are infecting others with your "we are the rulers of this list, we can do it any way we want". The only "right" that an admin has is the right to give time and effort for no reward to make the list provide a better service for all members. Making it easy for ourselves by cutting corners isn't on the list of rights. > It's impossible to have a > written rule for everything. e can come close enough if we care. Our "right" on this occasion is to do things as properly as possible. The fallout from doing it wrong would be unnecessarily severe.
