I also said this doesn't need a FET at all. A simple NPN with base resisto= r will do fine. As I also said, I use MMBT4401 for such jellybean applications. You need it to sink 100mA. Let's say the transistor has a gain of 50 for now, so that means you need a minimum of 2mA base current. I don't remembe= r your supply voltage, so let's say 3.3V, which leaves about 2.6V accross the resistor. 2.6V / 2mA =3D 1.3kOhms. That's the absolute maximum, so 1kOhm sounds like a good answer.
