I think the CPC/Farnell connection is stronger than the Newark/Farnell one; The cpc website is cpc.farnell.co.uk so it looks like CPC was bought by Farnell.=20 And whilst CPC does sell some cheap parts, it's generally (but not always) cheaper to buy from Farnell directly. I do remember some blurb coming through from Farnall about their change to Element 14, but as you say, they haven't pushed it much over here. -Jim In the UK Farnell has been the Newark 'agent', in that Farnell show Newark catalogue items in their catalogue, often with a different Farnell part number, higher cost, longer delivery time, and a 'one off shipping fee' to take account of it being an international shipment (if you order several Newark items you only get one 'shipping fee'). I don't know what the tie up is between the two companies, but I suspect that Farnell has shares in Newark. A similar arrangement occurs between Farnell and CPC. The Element 14 name appears to be being pushed real hard in the US, but although it appears on the shipping envelopes and miscellaneous bits here i= n the UK, the new name doesn't appear to be pushed that hard, I suspect that the Farnell name has too much good will to be dropped in a hurry within the UK, whereas it doesn't have that cache in the USA. --=20 Scanned by iCritical. --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
