I need to select an appropriate MOSFET for my relay switching. Coil specifications are as follows: Coil Power: 1200 mW Nominal Voltage: 12Vdc Pick-Up Voltage: 8.4Vdc Drop-Out Voltage: 1.2Vdc Maximum Voltage: 14.4Vdc Coil Resistance: 120ohm Olin suggested the IRLML2502, which is a nice MOSFET, but Mouser doesn't stock it, and I'm going to be using Mouser as my supplier. I searched up a bunch of other small signal MOSFETS, and came across this one: PMV56XN (http://www.nxp.com/documents/data_sheet/PMV56XN.pdf) 16 thousand of them in stock $0.134 each (very cheap compared to the other options) Rds ON is only 0.056 ohms Vds breakdown is at 20V Ids up to 3.76A 1.92W dissipation SOT23. Sound like a reasonable device? Also, the gate seems to be very sensitive o= n this one. Probably a good thing, since I'm working with low voltages. --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
