Olin, Regarding an excerpt of your response to "kris duff" a short while ago, you state,=20 =20 Snip... "How you are perceived has a lot to do with the quality of the answers you will get.=20 At least for me, the more I judge someone to be a clueless moron, the less I'm inclined to spend time trying to help". Snip... It seems to me, with your knowledge of so many subjects, and with your ability to=20 articulate your understanding of a subject so that other can understand it, the=20 above times that you say you aren't inclined to offer much help would be the time=20 you would be the most helpful. =20 =20 If someone posting a question or comment is such a "clueless moron", I would think=20 you'd want to educate them regarding their lack of understanding of the subject. And/or their failure to grasp the form and syntax of posting their question or=20 comments to the PICLIST in a succinct, consice fashion. Knowing and doing this=20 would then lead to the best possible, most accurate response from the thousands=20 of man-years of knowledge contained in the PICLIST community. I am not trying to be sarcastic to you, or anyone else for that matter, in writing this. I just believe that with the knowledge you have, if someone is really "clueless", and you want to improve the PICLIST community, you'd want to spend the time to educate that person. They in turn, somewhere down the road, can pass it along to someone they see as lacking in=20 the preferred way to post a question or comment. When all is said and done, with each=20 recipient passing down what they are taught to the next "clueless" person, everybody wins,=20 and the PICLIST gets better. A win - win situation. And just think, it all started with you educating the "clueless moron" that didn't know better. =20 Regards, Jim --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
