What we used to do (on mainly TTL boards) was to route the power rails=20 first so they took up the obvious direct routes. I don't know your CAD program but the power/ground thicker tracks should=20 go just past an SMD pad then neck down to say 10 thou to the pad to=20 prevent uneven soldering. With the CAD package we used this was often a=20 manual operation.
