Nowadays I'd get 1uF instead of 100nF. 100nF is so last century. Today's 1uF surface mount caps have lower inductance and better frequency range tha= n the 100nF thru hole caps from long ago. Back then 100nF was used because larger ceramic values were prohibitive in size and cost. This is no longer the case, but some people have forgotten to re-evaluate the assumptions whe= n the available parts changed the tradeoffs. There are still cases where lower value bypass caps are useful, but these are exceptions. In one case I even used a specific model of 100pF cap because it had the best characteristics at the particular frequency I reall= y cared about. However, unless you routinely to RF, these kinds of things come up rarely in microcontroller circuits. ******************************************************************** Embed Inc, Littleton Massachusetts, http://www.embedinc.com/products (978) 742-9014.
