With a vanishingly few exceptions, doomsday is no more than 120 years
away at most for anyone, and less than half that for many.

About 30 years in 1900 !!!!

Y2K meltdown is worse, so far. There WERE some very bad effects in
some systems. The atest prediction was based on extremely creative
biblical interpretations and there is no goo reason to think he would
be correct. He's probably up to a week out ! [ :-) !!!!!]. Any such
predictions are liable to be either 0% or 100% correct. So far all
such have managed 0%. So far :-).
