Hi Steven, Welcome to the Piclist! I think most of us would be in general agreement that the internal oscillator will be accurate enough for RS232 if it is a "room temperature" application. Page 388 of the data sheet shows +- 2% max at room temperature but it's much worse over the full temperature range.
