I haven't tried vim, I will have a look. I actually quite like=20 Notepad++, though I don't think it's as powerful as eMacs or vim it does=20 plenty to make life a lot easier. I am pretty sold on the idea of using an separate editor as I use quite=20 a few IDEs with crappy ones - they mostly have an option for using an=20 external one though, so you can launch it from the IDE.
