Has anyone else got problems with MPLAB macros?
They simply won't record for me, I press the "start recording" but=20
nothing happens. I have messed around with firewall to see if there was=20
some keystroke monitoring block in place or similar, did a quick Goggle=20
but can't find much.
I started using Notepad++, and I'm planning to start using this in MPLAB=20
using the external editor feature. Since many of the other tools I use=20
have such an option I thought I would try and use the same text editor=20
for all my coding as some do. Main reason is to make use of the more=20
advanced features not present in many IDE text editors. Having MPLAB=20
work like Visual Studio would be nice...
Any advice on this - what do others use or not use? Any reason why=20
people avoid this route?
I was looking at eMacs too, I used this briefly before but it has a=20
pretty steep learning curve which I haven't really time for right now.

The other question is - MPLAB or MPLABX?
Any thought on which is "better", or knowledge of future support and=20
development would be useful.
