The point is not that Eric Clapton was a great musician o= r not, but that he was a expert guitar player. Whether you like his music, his life style, or anything else about him, I think you have to agree the guy knew how to play a guitar. He also had enough resources that if he wanted a guitar to be a little different, he could get that to happen.
