True, although picking up this kind of knowledge is almost unavoidable=20 if you play it for long enough. I think we can safely assume Clapton knew a thing or two about how to=20 setup and care for his guitar. Guitars are usually made to withstand a hammering anyway, the people who=20 make them probably have a rough idea of what's in store - I have given=20 mine some real grief over the years and it's stubbornly refused to give=20 in - been dropped out of the back of a moving van, dropped off stage,=20 had beer spilt on it, ash dropped on it, left next to radiator, etc,=20 etc... - sounds better now than it did when new :-) Even without the above, just playing the thing can put plenty of stress=20 on it.
