This is for SC connectors, St, probably similar would work. And I was=20 going to suggest Cables to Go. I put my own ends on the 62.5/125. Strip every thing back as necessary,=20 except the coating on the fiber it self. That I use a sharp exacto knife=20 or razor blade against the thumb print, gently blade 90 degrees to the=20 fiber, several strokes rotating the fiber each stroke to remove the=20 coating. When the fiber is inserted in the connector, you should feel=20 the sharp end of the fiber. Mix some fast setting epoxy, with a syringe,=20 inject a few drops into the connector, push the fiber in, check for the=20 sharp end protruding, and cure. Make a metal (aluminum) template to keep=20 the connector perpendicular with polishing, a 1" or 2" sq x 1/8" thick.=20 Drill a tight for the connector center hole. I have used 600 grit=20 wet/dry sandpaper (dry). A half dozen swirls usually enough to polish.=20 This is not a replacement for the fancy equipment and the techniques=20 usually done, but for my 250' cable here at home, it works fine. I use=20 the Tyco 5503415-1 connectors. On 4/10/2011 7:11 AM, peter green wrote: > I'm using fiber in some field work to ensure two systems are completely > electrically isolated.
