It's been quite a while since I've taken that kind of a trip in peninsular
Malaysia (was in the other part last October), but I found Malacca interest=
ing
with the mix of colonial architectures. You might want to arrange a trip to=
 a
tea plantation but I think most of them are around the Cameron=20
Highlands. Similarly,
Penang is interesting IMHO, but it's well north of KL. You can arrange
inexpensive flights within and to/from Malaysia on Air Asia. If you want to=
 try
to find a photogenic kampong, the East coast might be more conducive.=20
ISTR a lot
of rubber plantations on the road trip from Johore Bahru to KL.

If you've not done this before, you'll find SE Asia a snap to get around in
compared to China.

Public transit is decent.. I've not tried driving there, but the roads are
generally good.
