Similar for me, haven't used PIC32 for a while now, but I'm just=20 starting a new project using one. I use the ICD3 also, and would=20 probably prefer it over anything else for debugging, though I would like=20 an OCD compatible JTAG tool with a range of PLDs and uCs (mostly ARM)=20 that will save me buying lots more vendor tools. Think I will go with=20 the JTAGKey2, as it looks to do pretty much all the stuff I want it to,=20 and the ones it doesn't mention (e.g. Actel, PIC32) I have programmers=20 for anyway. I know what you mean about the bulky MC dev boards, we made a few of our=20 own simple breakout type ones to use for prototyping instead. > At work, we only use small PICs (say 8-pin) as auxiliary IC ( to > generate PWM, act as supervisory IC, etc). Will probably ask in that thread or on the Open OCD list=20 when I get the JTAGKey2. --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
