I originally used it to plot boards from my Dasoft CAD system on CP/M on a Cromemco computer. I've always wondered about making boards using conductive ink. Plot a trace, plot an insulating trace above it, plot the next trace, etc. I'm not sure what you'd do for pads. Maybe glue parts down with conductive glue...
