I was going to say, based on the first link another option to look at would=
 be http://www.itrontft.com/tft/ which has been advertised a couple of time=
s here in the UK, with a flyer that came with the Electronic Weekly magazin=
e.

Depending on options, has a slot for  a USB connection, SD card, full RS232=
 port, SPI, I2C keypad, and other bits. IIRC it has an on-board ARM to do t=
he smarts, that you can program if need be.
