I would not know which of the various daily items I'd eaten had such an effect on me BUT so far have had it occur on only one occasion on 10 Asian visits. I'm careful to not sample street-ware which is not apparently well cooked, but much stuff that would be considered dubious here gets eaten without too much ill effect. Maybe my system is becoming innured? Items like the tandoori bread can trivially easily become contaminated after cooking so I have perhaps been more than usually protected. I have all the usual shots and one less usual one (Rabies) but they are to protect you [tm] from the results of various bugs and not from infection.
